What is the difference between trading and sourcing agent

Trading Companies

These companies do not manufacture goods and they are not factories. They are essentially “middlemen” sourcing products from factories, so the costs of the products are higher. Sometimes: Some trading companies pose as factories.

Trading companies mainly aim at high sales figures as, by placing a bigger order with the producer, they can earn more.

Sourcing Agent

These are third-party individual that can help your business find and select the right China manufacturing company that fits your unique needs. They can also recommend their own selection of suppliers in case you have not found one yet, or they can verify your preferred supplier on your behalf. 

A sourcing agent usually uses its expertise to help a client implement its project in the most cost-efficient way while also minimizing risks and achieving the best possible quality.
